Yesterday was an extremely long and tiring day but the students enjoyed it more than any other day.
We started with a 5:30am wake up call which thrilled everyone. We had a big brekky and then headed for Cooma where we stopped at the Snowy Hydro Education Centre to look at displays and watch a presentation on the Snowy Hydro Scheme.
We then went into town to get our snow gear and headed up the mountain. The snow was absolutely perfect. There was so much fresh snow that had fallen over the previous couple of days and the wind was very light making for very mild temperatures. It was fantastic to see how excited the students were when they saw the snow. There were plenty of snowball fights had in the time we spent on the slopes. The kids made a huge slide going down the side of the hill and that kept them occupied for a couple of hours. The teachers got some good fun out of that as well.
This morning we got packed up and headed off to the AIS for some sports fun. The students were rotated through three sports: sock wrestling, lacrosse and dodge ball. The students loved having the chance to run around and burn off some energy.
After that we had our last split activity before having pizza lunch in the Parliantary Rose Gardens. It has been a huge trip and the students been brilliant to take away. We look forward to seeing you all soon.
